The Most Expensive Song
in the Whole World

After more that a year of concerted effort, Louisa has officially passed off her Twinkles!

Tonight she participated in Suzuki graduation, alongside her cousin Caroline and friend Lydia.

I think Louisa's favorite part of the evening may have been the impromptu dramatic performances which occurred on stage following the violin playing!

Random Act of Kindness

Tonight we hosted the Parleys First Ward Priesthood Preview at our home. During the tender testimony of Susan Pynes, Ella walked out of the living room and down the hall. Frustrated that she would leave at all - let alone while someone was sharing heart-felt comments - I was prepared to give her "the eye" when she returned. She came back swiftly and prior to returning to her seat, handed a box of tissues to Susan.

This kind act, which none of the others had thought of performing, melted my heart, and turned my eyes to tears of gratitude rather than scolding looks. I am blessed to mother such a caring child.

Backyard Skate!

We had the opportunity today to enjoy the handiwork of our good friends (and industrious neighbors), who are thriving amidst the spell of cold weather that has hit Salt Lake. They have spent countless hours creating a beautiful Zamboni-worthy homemade ice skating ring in their backyard.

The girls loved skating today with their friends, and Ella especially enjoyed conquering one of her fears. After skating, Ella remarked, "You built quite a bit of confidence in me!" And Louisa said, "I love that you letted us play on your ice rink."
